Kindness Comes In Many Forms, What’s Yours?

Did you ever had a week where you couldn’t catch a break? Everyday, someone’s getting on your nerves? Your boss decided to sporadically double your workload? Excluding the last question, that pretty much summed up my week, last week. On top of this hectic week, my brother called me in the middle of the night, and I’m not supposed to be neither mad or concerned? Well, in the moment I was, but when he started talking, I had every reason to remain calm.

After waking me up from my well-deserved beauty sleep, he brought himself to say, “I have a surprise for you, it’s something that you’ve wanted for a while.” Naturally, I ask him what’s the “surprise”, but of course he wouldn’t tell me. In my curious yet skeptical reaction the first thing I said was, “This better be good because I need my beauty sleep and energy for tomorrow.” He responds, “When you get up tomorrow morning, it will be on your dresser. You’re welcome.”

At this point, I’m beyond exhausted and I don’t even remember hanging up the phone, but tomorrow becomes today and there it was…. a brand new JBL speaker with google home, WiFi, bluetooth, the list goes on. I’ve wanted a new bluetooth speaker because my previous one decided to go into retirement after bearing through some intense jam sessions. After having a really bad week, that small gesture of kindness made my entire day.

Listening to music is one of my favorite things to do, so my brother’s purchase of a wireless speaker definitely was a home run, but for somebody else a speaker may not be necessary. Instead, it may just require a simple bouquet of flowers or a selected bottle of wine. Whatever the case may be, it’s up to you to send them a small token of kindness.
